Shake It!

Every morning I have to go to class I am ALWAYS in a rush! In the past this would have been the reason for me not eating anything for breakfast.  Well, when I started losing weight a while ago I knew I needed to eat breakfast.  This semester was really bad about me being in a rush for some reason.  Pretty much all semester I've been grabbing a Slim Fast in the morning...well, I'm getting tired of them.  Then the other day I was hanging out at my friend Erica's house and there was this commercial that came on TV about Dole's Smoothie Shakers.  They looked really interesting, so I decided to try one.  I bought the Mixed Berry one because the local Walmart only had Mixed Berry and Strawberry Banana, and I do not like Strawberry Banana that much. I decided to try the Mixed Berry this morning.  It was absolutely wonderful! I have bought Yoplait's frozen smoothie thing, but that requires taking out my blender and then washing it.  I don't know about you, but either I don't have time for it, or I don't really feel like taking the damn thing out.  So I decided to try one of these.

Here is how you make it: First, you have to store it in the freezer.  When you're ready to make it you shake it really well so all the bits and pieces are lose. Doing this makes it mix better.  Then you pour apple juice to the fill line and shake it for 30-45 seconds...the consistancey in mine was perfect...the only thing I wish I had a random straw laying around because the lip of the container made it awkward to drink out of, but you could always pour it into your own cup.

Here is the nutritional values (before you add the juice):

Calories: 100 kc
Total Fat: 2g
Cholesterol: 10mg
Sodium: 40 mg
Carbs (Total): 17g
Fiber: 3g
Sugar: 13g
Protein: 5g

After you add the juice, the container says the calories goes up to 190, but I used light apple juice so the calories only went up maybe 50 calories...I would definitely try one. I bought it as Walmart for $1.50 a piece.

XOXO,
Kat
