Last Day of Class...Ever!

At 10:10 I will be sitting in Cultural Anthropology, aka: my last college class ever! I can't even believe I'm saying that. I'm still half waiting for someone to email me saying I'm not graduating which is totally stupid because my eportfolio is done, I've paid Clemson my retarded $7.50, I have talked to my advisor (who also talked to the undergraduate coordinator AND the chair of the college), AND I even called enrollment services and they all say I'm graduating....so this fear is completely irrational. Anyways, it's my LAST CLASS EVER!!!! Well until I decide to go to grad school... XOXO, Kathy

What I Learned Today (Today's Workout-8/29)

I have a goal of losing 30 pounds by graduation...in December. I have a super awesome Weight Loss Tree for motivation (more on that in another post)! With that, I am getting over my fear of the gym and following my soon to be trainer friend, Nicole, and becoming a gym rat...I always thought her body was amazing before she went, but holy shit, I don't think she's lost a pound but her muscles are popping more than ever before! So I decided, I have a gym membership at Fike, damn it, I'm going to use it! So, I've been going to Fike between Monday and Wednesday classes and once after my Thursday class. This Tuesday, I was sooo exhausted that I just went home and pretty much went to bed right after I talked to my mom at like 9:15. I'm very proud of myself! Now to what I learned today at the gym.... All I Wanted Was A Shower: A Poem

Disclaimer: A poem that I wrote when my daughter was four months old. Please understand that this is what I was feeling at the time, not what I actually think or how I actually feel. This was written during a very vulnerable moment. All I wanted was a shower. But as a mom...that's not okay. It's selfish. She's crying, Why won't you make her stop. It doesn't matter that you have her. What matters is that I wanted to take five minutes to myself and bathe. It doesn't matter that I showered as fast as possible. It doesn't matter that I don't think I even washed all of the shampoo out of my hair. What matters is that I ran. According to you... I ran. Self-care isn't important anymore.
